I finished this bad boy a couple of days ago. I gotta say, this has to be the best entry in the franchise. Honestly, the story wasn’t the best, I personally liked the Ezio trilogy better. But the gameplay and the amount of content was what drew me in. At its core its like all the other AC games, but this time around Ubisoft decided to listen to the gamers and made the game bigger, badder, and better. From hunting, to tree hopping, to naval ship blasting, AC3 delivers on everything most people wanted from AC.
The real world situations were a bit confusing, but it has been since the beginning to that’s nothing new. The ending was yet a very typical ending that has joined the other infamous endings in the franchise. I think its best to assume there will be another entry into the series, perhaps near the end of this year if Ubisoft keeps up its tradition of releasing these games yearly.
Hate it or love it, AC3 has rejuvenated a franchise loved and scorned by many. Selling over 6 millions copies so far, AC3 has proved to be a juggernaut IP with lasting power. What will the next entry be about? That’s a good question. Some rumors suggest a truce between the assassins and the templars for the sake of the world, others suggest the same formula of assassins vs templars. The location of the game is also up to speculation. Will it continue the North American story or move on? Realistically, the North American expansion could prove to be long lasting, not to mention the shenanigans that was going in Central and South America. The one thing I love about AC is that no matter what the location, the creators make sure to bring out the best experience of that specific region, ultimately making history (despite being slightly distorted) fun.
